This little bird seemed to be taking a rest just about 45 minutes out in the Gulf of Mexico from Corpus Christi, TX. He was such a beautiful little bird.

wow! it's a prothonotary warbler, a declining and threatened bird specie listed as "very high concern" on the ESA watchlist. amazing that you got to see him like this. they winter around the caribbean basin, but for some reason this guy has fallen out of the sky during migration-- presumably exhausted. very sad, but a wonderful shot. i hope he got back on his way! nice pic!
